QUALITY & SAFETY

Effective date: June 24, 2026
At BedSmart, every bed we sell is built for the safety, strength, and longevity that children and families deserve. We carry only solid-wood beds from trusted makers — Maxtrix, Max & Lily — and hold them to recognized North American safety standards.
Built to Recognized Safety Standards
Our bunk and loft beds are designed and tested to meet ASTM F1427, the North American safety standard for bunk beds, and comply with Health Canada’s Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.
Weight capacity: each sleeping surface carries a 400 lb working load, and frames are structurally tested to withstand more than 800 lbs — well beyond regulatory requirements.
Guard rails: 11″ tall — roughly twice the minimum required height — on applicable beds.
Ladders: deep, solid steps (approx. 4″ deep × 1″ thick) with safety grooves to reduce slippage, engineered to support an adult and child together.
Max & Lily & Maxtrix
Maxtrix is a modular system that reconfigures as your child grows — a low bed today, a high bunk or loft tomorrow.

Kiln-dried for dimensional stability, resisting warping and cracking over time.
Metal-to-metal construction secured by Maxtrix’s patented Rock Lock™ steel locking system.
